West Travis County Regional Water System
 
Customers of LCRAs West Travis County Regional Water System may water their lawns and landscapes up to twice a week, under a mandatory schedule in effect from May 1 through Sept. 30.

 
 

The schedule applies to the systems 3,500 retail customers, as well as an additional 4,000 customers served by utilities that get their water from the system, which serves neighborhoods and communities in western Travis and northern Hays counties.Under the schedule, if customers want to water their lawns and landscapes, they may do so on designated days as follows:

  • Residential, odd-numbered addresses: Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Residential, even-numbered addresses: Thursdays and Sundays
  • Commercial customers: Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Watering hours: Midnight to 10 a.m., and 7 p.m. to midnight

While the schedule and other water-saving measures are extremely valuable during the current drought conditions, these measures are beneficial regardless of how much (or little) rain our region receives. Long-term, these conservation measures will save you money on your water-utility bills and they help manage the regions water resources to meet long-term needs. Austin Energy Conservation Audit

Hello Readers,

The City of Austin is now requiring that homes must get an energy audit before being sold.

There are a few exemptions such as the following:

1) Home is less than 10 years old

2) Home with at least three energy effciency improvements or $500 in rebates in the past 10 years*

3) Homes that recieved energy effiecency impropvements in the last 10 years**

4) Condominiums or owner-occupied townhomes

5) Mobile Homes

6) Titles being transferred by owner

Some variances may be grabted if there is a permit application to demolish or substantially remodel a a home filed within six months of the sale.
