TODAY-DECEMBER 7 & 8 SPRINGS FAMILY YMCA Holiday Cookie Festival!
December 7th, 9am – noon & December 8th, 4 -7pm
If you don’t know what a Cookie Festival is, it’s time for you to bake a couple of batches of cookies or candy (or several batches), donate them to the YMCA, and then come back and buy a whole variety of cookies and other specialty items for your own enjoyment or to give away. Specialty items include fudge, truffles, candies and lots of other goodies. Call the 894-3309 for more information, or if you’d like to help. Proceeds will support the Springs Family YMCA Partner of Youth campaign, making it possible for everyone to be a part of the Y.

TUESDAY-DECEMBER 8TH & 9TH FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH RINGS FOR SALVATION ARMY
The First Baptist Church , Dripping Springs’ Youth Group is growing and expanding community missions. They refer to themselves as “The Well”. This active youth group is ringing out for the Salvation Army. The young people are excited about being bell ringers at the local Walgreens. The young adult class will be ringing on December 8th and The Well Youth Group on Wednesday, December 9th. First Baptist has been busy working on rebuilding the church and this will be the first community outreach for our new pastor, Craig Curry. The youth meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the fellowship hall and visitors are welcomed. Please stop by Walgreens between 4 & 8 PM on either Tuesday or Wednesday and meet some of the folks that make First Baptist Church a place that honors the past and is building our future. DECEMBER 11,12,18,19 LIVE NATIVITY AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
The First Baptist Church of Dripping Springs is presenting a live Nativity on the church grounds December 11, 12, 18, 19 at 6:30 and 7:30 PM. Last year the church members presented the Nativity in front of the preschool on Hwy 290, however due to the construction of the new sanctuary, the Nativity has been moved behind the preschool, near the basketball court. The church will be hosting guests in the fellowship hall for refreshments between and after performances and features the children’s choir. DECEMBER 12 & 19 CHRISTMAS AT THE LBJ BOYHOOD HOME
December 12, and 19, everyone is invited to experience “Christmas at the LBJ Boyhood Home” with open house of this historic home, all decked out for a Christmas celebration in the 1920s from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. each evening. These park events are free of charge and are complemented by the stunning lighting display at the PEC, across the street from the LBJ Boyhood Home. Blanco County Courthouse is the centerpiece of the town’s seasonal celebration “Lights Spectacular” and is not to be missed. The Dripping Springs Community Library will be closed Dec. 24 & Dec. 25 for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It will also be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in celebration of the New Year.

“Wash Day Laundry is the drop-off point for any new or gently-used coats you would like to donate through the Oak Hill Rotary Club. We are also the drop-off point for blankets or bedding that will be donated to an adopted family through EcoClean.”

WIMBERLEY HOME HEALTH OFFERS DIABETIC EDUCATION CLASSES
Wimberley Home Health offers free diabetic education classes-taught by a registered nurse/diabetic educator. There are four classes in the series, and they meet once a week for four weeks. Educational materials are provided, and a light, diabetic friendly snack is offered. Seating is limited, so please contact Barbara to reserve your space – (512)738-7048. The next scheduled session is for December 9, 16, & 23rd, 11:00 – 1:00, at the Wimberley Community Center , 14068 Ranch Road 12.
